Sent spec letter to companies and today received a call but from who?

I would just ring him, Say hi this is forever.insane calling I believe you left a message for me to call you back, chances are he will tell you the business name like, oh hi forever.insane it joe bloggs from joe bloggs ltd calling about the cv you sent us, or something to that effect. Don't worry so much just try to blag it.

To be honest, I really can't see what the problem is in the first place and why it would matter if they were aware you had called other companies. In fact, if I were a potential employer, I would be impressed that you showed initiative and were obviously keen to work.

Just ring him.
