Singing and Dancing Laptop

While trying to sort out my existing desktop problem (another post) I am just wondering whether in future do I need a desktop, or whether there is now a Laptop which has all the necessary connections to eliminate the need for a desktop?

The usual ones I seem to run out of is USB, and have never managed to get a USB hub that works satisfactorily. Most I have found is 4, so if you have a seperate USB mouse and keyboard added to it, and a printer/scanner a usb hdd, then you have to start juggling if you want to put something on a USB stick. (as a touch typist a full size keyboard for any length of use if preferred).

I would want to be able to use it with a TV so a HDMI would be needed, and a very large HDD. Composite or scart would be good too.

I have tried powered USB hubs and still not found them great, always causes conflicts. Maybe the answer is a wireless mouse and keyboard set which only needs one port.
    Thanks. DG

Yes, I know, but while I use one very successfully I find a mouse easier, especially if I am using a separate keyboard as my laptop would be closed.
