Estate Agents - Buyers

Hi all,
Our sale has just fallen through and we spent Saturday driving around EAs registering. Some we hadn't de-registered with.
They keep marking us as 'hot buyers' and 'premier buyers' and 'priority buyers' as we have completed on our property, have a mortgage ready to go etc and saying they they will find us somewhere but we never hear from them! I am not being impatient and expecting something since Saturday - I am basing this on the 8 months we have already been registered with them.
What is the best way to manage this? There is nothing on Rightmove we like the look of. (We are looking for a property in a village east of Bath/Bristol area for reference!) We need to get to see something as it comes on the market, but they don't contact us! We are desperate to get somewhere but it has to be the right place!
Does anyone have any tips?

It's amazing, isn't it? I registered with around 10 estate agents at the beginning of the year, and only two of them have ever proactively contacted me with details of houses that have just come on to their books. I'm a ftb with cash...an EA's wet dream in the current climate.
Not sure about tips...maybe call a few and say you're still looking?0 -
everyone who is proceedable right now is a priority buyer, pay it no attention.
I suspect you have been so accurate in your description of what you want that they know not to bother you with something that isnt right. Maybe you house just isnt on the market yet.
I would go and leaflet drop the areas you want to move to yourself and see if you get any responseI am a Mortgage Adviser

Give us the location/spec and we can find you somewhere.
It'll break the monotony of the questions usually asked where we give the same answers we've given for years.
Go on ... let us track somewhere nice down

Incorrect I am afraid!!!
Strange as it may seem, an EA's "wet dream" buyer would be a FTB who was going to do the mortgage through the in-house advisor and sign up for the in-house solicitors. Much more money in it for the EA.I am a Mortgage Adviser

I've barely had any contact from EAs as a buyer at all. There's one that I registered with in November who send the weekly "click here to see new listings that meet your requirements" e-mail. There has never yet been a new listing. I wonder if EAs are going so long between getting instructions that they assume you're no longer interested in looking by the time they get something new to market? Mind you, my OH phoned to book a viewing last weekend and they never got back to him with that either so perhaps they've just given up working altogether.
I've tried everything in giving them my "wants" list - from lots of detail to general-likes-but-willing-to-consider-anything to vague open-to-whatever-you've-got-in-this-price-bracket. Nothing seems to make any difference.0 -

Stop waiting for EAs to contact you, and stop taking any notice of their latest marketing-speak rubbish. Use their websites, Rightmove, the local paper, leaflet drops, 'For Sale' signs etc and find your property yorself.0
