How to setup XBox with Projector and Cinema Speakers

Hi all,
I am trying to work out how to setup my living room as components are/can be at opposite ends of the room.
I have my TV and subwoofer at the front of the room.
I have my projector at the back of the room.
Where should I put my XBox?
Which lead needs to be long to trail?
Is it the projector to the XBox or is it the XBox to the subwoofer?
I have the following items:
1) Xbox (normal) - will be getting an Advanced Scart Cable at some point to give an optical link.
2) Benq MP720P Projector
http://www.benq.co.uk/products/Projector/?product=617&page=specifications
3) Logitech Z5500 speakers
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/GB/EN,CRID=2177,CONTENTID=9486#Specifications
My projector hasn't arrived yet, so I am not sure what connects this to the XBox - the projector does not have scart, so I assume its the individual red/white/yellow leads that plug in somewhere?
To connect the XBox to the sound system, I have to use an XBox Advanced Scart Cable and an optical lead.
I assume I need either a very long optical lead (Xbox at rear of room connecting to subwoofer) or a very long Xbox cable (XBox at front of room).
Because people need to be fairly close to the XBox, I assume putting it at the rear of the room is better. This means I need to get a 5-10M optical cable?
Any thoughts?
Thanx

Put the xbox in a place where you can easily use the controllers as they have a limited cable length. Once you position it for that, purchase the necessary SCART and TOSlink cables to suit. Since you'd want the video quality as high as possible it's best to keep that cable as short. You can purchase 10m of optical audio lead. Hope that helps0

Thanks for that cdbrown. Seems like the best way forward!

Your SCART cable makes the RGB signal available. However, your projector does not appear to have separate RBG phono but a DSUB connnector for analog RGB, AFAICT. So you would have to buy a breakout cable (RBG to DSUB) and a SCART to RGB breakout box. Or a diy cable.
The projector does have a SVideo input. So a breakout box like this ,though available cheaper elsewhere, would be used.
As for the length of video cable, any good quality cable 20m or under will be fine.
You should consider ceiling or wall mounting your projector out of harms way.0 -
Thanx irnbru. Did I choose a poor projector? It seems not as straightforward as I expected to connect an XBox.
I think I'll go for the RBG to DSUB and a SCART to RGB breakout.
Thanx for the info.

It would be a scart to s-video lead. Can't see why not.0 -
Is there any advantage/disadvantage to getting a scart to s-video vs a scar to s-video and 2 phono?

Do I lose out if I get the ones with extra phono and find that the sound or picture is missing because it expects them to be connected as well?

Also, this lead states: "direction from s-video only". I assume that because its Xbox sending from the scart side, this will be of no use?

My son has a similar setup in his bedroom....what I did for him was place the Xbox on a shelf below the projector....saves on expensive long runs of connecting cables....and he uses his wireless controller....it is an Xbox 360 you're talking about?
