What are Tesco like with retention deals?

I have a Tesco credit card which I do not use anymore and has a £0 balance. I am considering closing the account, but I was wondering if anyone has been offered any decent retention deals after they have called to cancel the card?

When I cancelled they just accepted it. I think you are better off as a brand new customer with Tesco. 12 months after cancelling you are usually a brand new customer all over again.
I wonder why it is, that young men are always cautioned against bad girls. Anyone can handle a bad girl. It's the good girls men should be warned against.-David Niven
