Hi everyone.
i am new to this forum. i need help regarding disability element of working tax credit for my wife. i applied on claim line of WTc and in response they sent me a letter saying that you don't qualify. but in fact she qualify as she is rheumatoid arthritis patient and off sick for last 5 months and getting occupational sick pay. from april it is going to reduced to half pay. so i called again on the number shown on the letter they sent and first they tried to mis guide me by saying that we need to be receiving DLA to be eligible. but when i told that dla is not necessary and she is getting occupational sick pay they changed their tone and asked me to send the proof that she is off sick. will anyone please help to suggest what is the most appropriate proof which we could send. we are sending latest sick note along with first one and a letter from gp explaining her condition. also sending a letter from occupational health doctor confirming that she is still unfit to go back to work.
all suggestions will be much appreciated
thanking in advance.

The information you have sent should be fine. Make sure you keep copies of all the letters and med certs you send though in case they get lost. I'm assuming they will want the originals or a 'certified as true copy' photocopy.0

The criteria I think you may be looking for is on pages 22 to 24 of the tax credit claim form guidance notes -

I don't see how she can qualify unless?
She goes back to work at reduced hours after being off sick for over 20 weeks
or
She goes onto Employment Support for at least one day after April when her Statutory Sick Pay stops.0 -
thanks everyone.
@bigbill: i think you are talking about fast track route for some one who is going back to work after a period of sickness.
on the other hand my wife qualify as per TC956 disability help sheet.
at least this is my understanding.
any further response which can help to clarify this will be much appreciated.
thanks again.0 -
The first one was about the fast track route, the second one is the only other way I can see her qualifying?
I don't have the tc956 form but can you say what part of the tc956 do you feel applies to her?0 -

I don't know anything about this but if it helps, the TC956 helpsheet is here;
