Powerpoint Help

I am preparing a powerpoint presentation but struggling to get the text on my slides to appear the way I want them to appear.

Basically the information in the presnetation is covered by a series of bullet points. However I want to alter the way the bullet points appear on slides - on some occasions I want to have to press a button to get the next (single) point to appear, however on other occasisons I want to to have to press a button to get a range of bullet points appearing.

I can't find any way of achiveing this with the various commands in the menus. I have found that I can do either one or the other by using "animation schemes" from the menu, but I cant work out how to have both methods in one presentation Can anyone advise on how I can do this?

Thanks!
