    Hi MEMBER02

Provided the switch completes after the tariff end date, you will not be charged a cancellation fee.

Switches usually take between 4 to 6 weeks to go through. Therefore, if you start the switch approx 2 - 3 weeks before the end date you should be well in.

Also, we don't usually give discount on the final bill when changing supplier. However, as you will have completed the full term of Fixonline 8, you will receive all the discount applicable to this tariff even if part of this falls within the final bill.

The only discount you'll miss out on will be for the period between the end of Fixonline 8 and the switch date.

Hope this answers your question MEMBER02. Give me a shout if you need any more info as will be happy to help.

if you initiate the transfer on 1st june you will likely transfer first week in july, thus getting no cancellation fee. the trick to avoiding losing your discount on the final bill, *not in your case, but in general, would be for example to call up on 1st july, being a week before you leave, and asking to be billed up to your current reads. thus you will receive your discount all the way up till 1st july, and on your final bill you would only be billed for about a week therefore only losing a measley amount of discount.

dont leave eon though, just login to your online account and click on the red button to view and switch your tariff, and hop onto their latest save online deal, as that will be there or there abouts with the other companies cheapest online deals.

I am also on fixonline 8 and I would only save £12 in a year if I left to go to BG who are the cheapest for me.

Too much bother for £12 for me.

And I have yet to find a cashback site that will give me a decent cashback for leaving eon and going to BG.

not worth it, as far as im aware nothing would come close to FO8 now, so that must be one hefty lump sum you're getting cashback wise!

do we know if a new fixonline is coming, or have any idea when one might turn up? Fingers crossed for something similar when this expires, I don't really want the hassle of moving suppliers but guess I should consider it...

    That's what I said.

And I also said I was not changing suppliers for the sake of saving £12.

on uswitch for my yearly consumption when fixonline8 comes to an end.

    SG/BG £1073.78

    NP £1084.14

    Eon £1085.85

    SP £1129.32

    EDF £1139.66

and finally my old regional supplier Hydro Electric £1204.27 (SSE for those not in Scotland) who are the dearest and I can see their office/call centre from my bedroom window.

So where can I get a cashback that will make it worth while leaving E.on?

My Fixonline 7 is also ending on 1st May and the tariff they are offering (EnergyOnline) is not much diffferent except for one BIG different, the Online discount is reduced from 18% to 2%. BG Websaver 11 appears to be my best option.

1st July, the end of the world as we know it. FixOnline 8, rest in peach. :A

The solution is a decent five year fix, or possibly longer.

I want to start a covert cult organisation. We send fanatical moneysaving black belts to study MBA and finance. They then infiltrate all the major utility companies and co-ordinate a price war. They justify a ten year (or longer) fixed tariff to the shareholders by claiming this is the most effective customer retention mechansim. (Let's face it, if you have a good fix, why would you leave?) The fixed rate has to be low enough to attract customers, naturally.;)
