I'm curious to know which bins the discarded receipts are extracted from.

Technically, it is theft to take anything out of someone else's rubbish bin. I read quite recently in the national press of a woman who was successfully prosecuted for taking discarded food out of a supermarket's waste bin.

    :(

I know some frown upon it but I found a receipt with 580 unclaimed points tonights...

Very happy!! (Previous best 96 points)

I live 1minute away from Tesco and regularly walk my dog there during his night time walk, I pick up 20-30 receipts and pocket them....

When I get home I pick out the best 2-4 and save to get scanned the following day
The rest of the receipts I put in the recycle bin... I feel it's my reward for recycling
  • Can you compare tesco receipts online? I didnt realise you could do this and I mainly shop at Tesco's. I had a look on their website but couldnt see where to do it? thanks x

No it's not. Camelot has a clear lost and found policy. If you find a ticket and fail to follow that policy (ie sending camelot the ticket with all the details of where you found it and what efforts you made to try to find the owner) by claiming the prize, then you are commiting fraud and could go to jail for doing so.

    Tesco have no such policy.

    It's only a game

Correct, worst offence it "could" be is theft by finding... But you'd have to prove
    A its found
    B it is of value
    C Tesco wish to prosecute
    D It's in a public interest
E It is against their policy

I did ask in an email, which stupid me have lost.. if it was ok to pick up receipts left by other customers in trollies and the reply in the email from asda was yes... but still had to stick to the use of 10 or £100 policy per month..

Interesting I haven't done this but it might be worth looking around a supermarket car park for brand match vouchers at Sainsburys lol
