hi, i need to get a CHEAP contract (NOT PAYG) so i can boost my credit rating via paid direct debits,it must be EASY to gain via credit search, ideally it will be a very basic phone, gadgets not required with a few free minutes any help would be appreciated as i'm going slightly mad looking at various comparison websites and 100% want to avoid visiting the mobile phone shops many thanks.

Cheapest phones (unlocked) are available for a few pounds after quidco/TCB cashback:
http://www.e2save.com/mobile-phone/payg.html?
http://www. mobiles.co.uk/pay-as-you-go-mobile-phones.html
The easiest contacts to get are sim-only 1 month rolling contacts.
Just an example: T-mobile Cashback loophole. Get £55 and free minutes for nothing.0 -
You can actually get some quite decent free phones for a tenner a month contract now, as long as you can stomach a hateful 24 month deal.0

It's a T-Mobile offer, runs out 31st: http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/shop/pay-monthly/deals/1/0

If I understand correctly, you want to enter into a credit agreement in order to boost your credit history.
Can I also suggest you buy a pair of socks from Littlewoods?
You get to pay over 20 weeks (5 4-weekly statements).
Quite easy to get accepted with a low credit limit (provided you're on the electoral roll and can verify address).
You can keep the account going with an active balance by buying the odd small thing now and again if you like (every time you clear your balance they will usually send a discount voucher for your next order).0
