Car insurance, changing address

Hi everyone

I have recently changed my address. I was paying £80 a month for my car insurance. I called "Quinn direct" to inform them about my change of address. They said I have to £50 more each month, totally £140 a month.

Just for changing address they are charging me £50 more each month, which is ridiculous.

I wonder if anyone can help me to reduce this amount.

Have you moved to a more risky area?
Sometimes area that are "nicer" can be at a higher risk of theft as there are more valuable cars to nick.
I would shop around on a comparison site (use false email and phone number) and ask Quinn what it would cost to cancel (make sure they understand you are not actually cancelling but want to enquire about the cost).

You then have the choice to pay Quinn cancellation fees, lose any accrued partial NCD and start again with a cheaper policy.
