Hi, I overpaid on a payment to my credit card and it's now in credit; how do I recoup this money?
Should I just purchase something to the amount?

That would do it.therevelator wrote: »Hi, I overpaid on a payment to my credit card and it's now in credit; how do I recoup this money?

On the other hand, if it's a largish amount overpaid and you particularly need the cash, they will usually be happy to send you a cheque.
Many (most? all?) cards now have warnings against having positive balances but in practice I don't think they would worry if it was not a huge amount. Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

Contact the card and ask them to issue you a cheque (or a bank transfer) for the amount in credit. Don’t just withdraw it from an ATM, you probably will be hit with fees for cash withdrawal.
If it’s a small amount, why not just spend it and use the card for your daily shopping.0 -
They can also transfer to a current account rather than issue a cheque.0
