Epson Stylus problem

Options
I have just done a clean install of Windows XP for a friend ( after DBANing the laptop first), on a Toshiba Satalite, and all is well. Another friend has given her an Epson Stylus DX4400 (or it may be DX4450), minus the set-up disk.

Anyway I downloaded the drivers from the Epson esupport site, but when trying to install them, a rather intimidating window from Microsoft opened, saying that if installation was continued, it might damage the PC, if not now, then at a later date, and it therefore recommended that installation should be stopped immeditely!!! I've never encountered a message like this before.

Just to add, the Hardware Wizard was unable to independantly find and download the drivers from the internet, which is why I went to the Epson website.

I would be very grateful for any help or suggestions. TIA

Hi Santer....yes it is!! But, as I said, I've never encounterd this box before, and didn't want to continue in case it caused any damage, entailing me having to do another XP install.

Thanks for the link...I'll use it when I next see her and use her laptop.
