Mozilla not responding

Hi, I am using Mozilla on my desktop and have this odd problem..whenever my computer has been turned off for a while..like overnight and then load up the internet it freezes within the first few clicks and say's mozilla not responding and takes a few minutes to get going again..it's really annoying..once the computer has 'warmed up' it is fine..anyone know why this is happening and why my computer hates the mornings ? lol

Mozilla is an organisation (Mozilla Foundation). What software of theirs are you using? Firefox?

This is copied from the Firefox help pages and might be the problem.

"Firefox may hang if left open for long periods of time. To fix the issue, restart Firefox.

If you regularly leave Firefox open so that you return to where you left off, you may want to use Firefox's Session Restore feature. When you exit the program, Firefox can remember your open windows and tabs. When you restart Firefox, you can optionally reload those windows and tabs.

    To enable Session Restore:

At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Tools menu and select Options...
Click the General panel (Main panel in Firefox 3.5).
From the When Firefox starts drop-down, select Show my windows and tabs from last time.
Click OK to close the Options window
Firefox is now configured to remember your windows and tabs. You can close Firefox without losing the currently opened web pages, which may prevent Firefox from hanging."

It is probably because Firefox is set to check for updates. If you set that off in tools / options/advanced / update it will load quicker. But check for updates once a week say, that's Help/Check for Updates.

Mozilla is a web browser too. It's no longer maintained, however, so most people should probably upgrade to Firefox or SeaMonkey.

Oh yes, sorry, Firefox. If the computer has only been turned off for a couple of hours it is ok but if it is longer then it does this not responding thing and hangs with the timer showing..I go away and make a drink or something then usually it has released itself, fine when I am not in a rush lol

I searched 'computer freezes in the morning' and it would seem it is a common problem across the board and some of the 'fixes' seem a bit complicated for me.
I guess it is just one of those things.

Try post 4 first before going to bed, then see what happens in the morning.....
