How long am i supposed to wait ?

Offer accepted three weeks ago. Survery everything carried out. Just waiting for solicitor to begin work, but waiting because the vendors are only selling if they find another house. They've put offers in for houses i'm hearing, but i've heard nothing sinse. Estate agent just remains positive, but he would.
Am i just be impatient? What's the 'standard industry' (i know, i know) reasonable amount of time to wait?
This is just to confirm the owners have found another property! Then the solicitors work begins which will take time. Then the problems of hopefully the house they buy, the vendors find themselves another property! I hate chains.

It is considered the sensible thing to do for seelers to wait until they have a buyer before they make a purchase elsewhere. Three weeks is nothing but yes the fact they have yet to have an offer accepted will delay things somewhat.
Are you in a particular hurry? Do you love the property or are you happy to move on to something else? The answers to these questions will help you decide whether you're willing to wait and for how long."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -
It could take a while in a chain. You can only hope that the chain is as short as possible! It may take months so be prepared to wait a long time. But these things have a habit of bursting into life suddenly and then you'll find yourself trying to keep up...Everyone is entitled to my opinion!0

We had our offer on our first place accepted almost 7 weeks ago and the chain still hasn't been completed yet so god knows how long it could still take.
You probably are being a bit impatient as 3 weeks isn't a long time at all. I know the feeling I am really impatient and just want to get in there straight away! But if it's somewhere you really want then you'll just have to wait for as long as it takes and try to do everything you can to speed up the process in the meantime.
Good luck!

Welcome to the world of house buying chains! You dependant on everyone else now. Nothing to stop you making contact EA to EA to see how things are developingPoliticians and diapers have one thing in common. They should both be changed regularly, and for the same reason.0

Three weeks is just the start of it, too soon to start worrying. But the housing market is so slow these days I would be a bit cautious if the vendors are already saying they will only move if they can find something they like, and there is nothing on the horizon at the moment. I would consider putting some kind of a time frame on it - maybe that you will wait, say another six weeks, then if they don't have an offer accepted on another house at that time, you will review the situation. Is there a chain below you? - they might not be willing to wait forever.0
