Apple Price match?

According to ipoints, Apple will price match any other store.... but I can't find any mention of this on Apple's website. Does anyone know if it's true, and how you would go about doing it?

Thanks in advance.

  • It probably wouldn't matter as Apple dealers don't get out of line with pricing Apple products - there's next to no variation.
  • I remember i saw amazon selling ipods for cheaper than the apple strore. It mentioned on the website a price match so i rang up hoping they would match the price, then i could say im a student and get an extra discount. So i asked about their price match and i told them about the amazon price and they said they couldnt price match it.

Depends on what you are after...you can get the odd bargain

I went into John Lewis to buy a G5, just as I was about to pay I noticed a box on the floor with another new G5 in it, I asked the sales chap what was up with it he said it was a return, nothing wrong with it and it was reduced by £300 quid with a better spec than the one I was going to buy, so I bought it...this has happenned to two other guys I know , one with an iMac and one with a MacBook

But a JL customer return isn't a price match by Apple on a new product?
