Another positive opinion here. Daughter was lying the wrong way and got stuck, no amount of pulling with the ventouse cap was shifting her so I ended up with a section. She was a girny, unsettled baby and it was the midwife who suggested it to us (with the proviso we didn't tell the Doctor we were going or that it was her that suggested it :D).

It helped a lot. Can't remember how many times we went but it wasn't loads, she settled fairly quickly. Osteopath showed us how to massage her tummy as well and her colic settled down too.

We thought he was brilliant until we found out he'd got jailed for child sex abuse (his own daughter). _pale_

hi, just to add our experience which unfortunately isn't so glowing! we went after DD1 was born via emergency C-section and had awful colic. We went to a CO practise recommended by our health visitor, though we didn't see the person who's name was at the top of the list. We thought we'd booked to see her but got sent to someone else in the practise. Whilst she seemed very competent and said DD needed some 'realignment' from the traumatic birth, I got the impression she wasn't overly experienced but this was only with hindsight! We had 2 sessions and at the second one she said 'I can't find anything wrong anymore'....DD wasn't any better and eventually grew out of her colic at 4+half months. HOWEVER, I have heard other people's experiences which are fantastic. I would just say as others have, please try to find someone on recommendation - another parent who has taken their child there rather than a healthcare professional. Good luck. x

I've heard that baby massage is really good for colic, you might be able to do a short course for free if you have a sure start childrens centre locally.

Also there's a book called 'the happiest baby' written by an american paediatric doctor which is about colic, it's a really good read.
