Do Santander have any close-account silly clauses?

I know you can't take less than £30 from within a branch
I think the gf mentioned her work mate kicked off with Santander in branch over various issues & had enough so said that she'd be closing the account & i'm fairly sure they said there'd be a charge.
Just wanting to double check this, as i'd empty the account via bank transfers if so.
It all hinges on whether they want to play nice (re: my other thread). If not then the money is coming out & sod the rates.

They press some buttons on the computer - wait 10 minutes - confirm account is closed and give you cash or a cheque
No fee when I closed a former B&B and A&L account - I still have 2 accounts with them
Balance was less than £30 in each case and no feeHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Thanks. I wonder why the gf's workmate got issued with a charge then. Probably a Santander employee not knowing what they were doing. Rare i know.
Well, let's see then. I'll either be a happy chappy tomorrow, or i'll be making an appointment to shut down everything i have to do with Santander.0 -
There is no charge to close an account - perhaps the workmate had outstanding fees that would have to be cleared in order to close the account?0

I suspect they're getting pretty experienced at closing accounts.0
