Hi all,
Is car insurance generally more expensive for unemployed people? I don't have any points, in my 30's with 3 years no claims.
Any info is appreciated.
Cheers

Yes the premium does go up if you tick any of the boxes, unemployed, house husband, retired etc.
So your more of a risk if you driver fewer miles and in quieter times than driving in the rush hour madness.
But i am a better risk if i add my mother who has had accidents and made claims.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

You cannot put yourself down as a househusband if you are genuinely unemployed eg in receipt of JSA0 -
According to the Job Picker on this very site (link) an unemployed person will pay 8% more than someone who declares themself as a housewife/househusband.0
