  • I don't see why not if they are genuinely the people who will be driving it the most. You don't want to be accused of fronting, do you? :P

If you look at quotes for insurance you will see that there are options to show that the proposer is not the named owner of the vehicle. All you need to do is work out who will be using it the most and put the second partner as an additional driver.
  • No no fronting going on :rotfl: , just she has some debts and I could register it in her name but then they could just take the car then , that's basically the reason I want it in my name . Cheers for the reply .

  • can i ask why youll be registered keeper? responsability falls to you to tax it and have the fines on your door step.

you can be the OWNER without being registered keeper by the way.

owner as in purchase reciept with your name on it. registered keeper i.e the person responsable for tax etc.

Correct the V5 will state that it is not proof of ownership or some sort on it.

Dont forget to notify the insurer that they are not the registered keeper / legal owner. Some online
quotes wont work if you are not the owner/keeper.

The insurance maybe loaded. Not sure how the tax will work because the reminder is in your name but the
insurance wont have your name on it, Will that matter?

  • registered keeper has responsability to tax with relevant docs i.e insurance

taxing online will be your best bet as checks are done through MIB for MOT AND INSURANCE. post ofice will check every fine detail name of V5 to name of policy holder for discrepancies.

yes it can be done, but not normally online,I would suggest getting a quote with you as onwer/keeper, then ringing the best company and explain,
as has been said the thing is you are then as keeper liable for all fines that the car may get
