The chances are that your original point of contact wasn't actually the Sainsbury's we all know and love that sold your data on to the loan brokers.
It's probably a company that generates data on prospective loan applicants by sending emails pretending to be a trusted brand like Sainsbury's and they may even have bought up URLs that are very similar to Sainsburys.
Rule of thumb - check them out their web site first, if it doesn't look like Sainsbury's (who sell nice food) then its probably a broker (they buy lots of nice food with all the money they've scammed off everyone)
