Everday loans

I applied for a 3k small loan from Sainsburys to pay back over 2yrs. Got a call there from Lending Wizard who said I had been agreed in principle for an Everday Loan but he couldn't put me straight through as they were shut. He didn't know the apr!

Anyone dealt with EDL?

    Hello again.

    So Sainsbury said no then?

Your details were passed to Lending Wizard (Broker) who recommended http://www.everyday-loans.co.uk/

Did you give your bank or card details to Lending Wizard by any chance?

Everyday Loans do appear to be a lender as opposed to broker but if I recall correctly they have very high APRs and tend to deal with the low value/short term market mainly.

Yip, I knew Sainsburys was too good to be true! I didn't hand over any bank details and never would. I bet the apr is something ridiculous like 89%! Aaarrggghh, I am running out of options!

I see from another thread that you had or have a loan with GE Capital. Has this been paid off now?

It was a secured loan on my house. I have just sold my house and this loan will be paid off in full. Wondering if I should try them for an unsecured loan... may have a better chance??

@Enfieldian, there's an Everyday Loans place by you in Enfield on Church Street, btwn C&G and Nationwide - it's number 47a I think... Very high rates, the local 'rep' Michelle Joseph outta take out one of her 68% loans herself to invest in a charm school and learn some basic manners :D Avoid them like the plague - they're a broker, who will introduce you to the likes of FLM...

Yes I see from their website that they offer broker partnerships as well.

I take it that if they cannot lend to you then they will charge you a hefty fee to pass your details on to doorstep lenders and PayDay loan companies.

That's them! I've had some place called 247money keep texting me ever since their sister firm Wentworth 'pre-approved' me, wow £450 maximum loan! I make that in a week, lol :D

Our friend Michelle didn't like my tax code (huh?) and despite the fact I showed her payslips proving I am working, she turned me away, lol though the next chav in the tracksuit bottoms on benefit got accepted :(

It's all a scam, they're slightly more convincing in that they have an office and nice looking stationery, unlike the rest of the filth at the lower end of the food chain :D

The chances are that your original point of contact wasn't actually the Sainsbury's we all know and love that sold your data on to the loan brokers.

It's probably a company that generates data on prospective loan applicants by sending emails pretending to be a trusted brand like Sainsbury's and they may even have bought up URLs that are very similar to Sainsburys.

Rule of thumb - check them out their web site first, if it doesn't look like Sainsbury's (who sell nice food) then its probably a broker (they buy lots of nice food with all the money they've scammed off everyone)

    I'm off for a Gregg's pasty.
