sounds like the idle timeout in the router is set to a value. Log into the router and change it to 0 and see how you get on......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
It may also be worthwhile checking for any firmware updates if your router has been out of action for a bit.
Find your router here:
http://kb.netgear.com/app/products/list
Go to the relevant support page and check under downloads to see if the firmware has been updated. If it has and you choose to update it, do it via ethernet cable not wireless.0 -
will try that thanks

Login to your router, under basic settings, should be an option to set idle timeout to "0".0 -

Use Internet Explorer, not firefox or other browser to do update.0 -

options in basic settings are
Does Your Internet Connection Require A Login?
Account Name (If Required) Domain Name (If Required)
ip address
