Anyone got inflatable outdoor Xmas decs?

I'm just toying with the idea of buying one of those giant inflatable Xmas fiigures ... Santa/Snowman etc.

For those that have got one or more of these, do you inflate every morning and deflate at night or just keep it inflated all the time?

Is it expensive to keep the inflator running?

Thanks for thoughts.

There's a house near my old primary school that has been putting massive decorations up for years and gets compliments and gawping Children from the middle of November onwards.

There's another [Anne] who lives on the road my grandad does and is known as 'Christmas Lady' as she has lots of outside decorations and flashing lights and a massive glittering tree you can see from outside. It's beautiful :)

Thanks to both of you for replying. :)

jussy...it's the Maplin's decs I've been looking at. I fancy the bears myself but the lad wants a snowman.

One other thing I forgot to ask....if you leave them plugged in 24 hours a day, is the inflator thing noisy at night? Don't want to upset my neighbours if it was to be left up all the time.

Thanks again jussy. I think I'll pop into Maplins later and get one. I'm going to get an outdoor socket put in to avoid the problems of the lead. Not a cheap solution I grant you. The socket will come in handy for when I'm using the pressure washer to wash the car so I'll sell the idea of a 'multi-tasking' outdoor socket to justify the expense to my wife, lol.
  • We had a four foot inflatable santa and a snowman one year which we put on the front lawn. BIG MISTAKE!!!! One evening unbeknown to us (and whilst we were indoors watching TV.....) someone thought it would be funny to slash them to shreds. My children were heartbroken.

Now we have a couple of lit up reindeer but we put them on the garage roof nowadays to keep them out of most peoples reach!
