Faulty charger

I was bought an aspire notebook for my birthday in January.
The charger has broken, it does not hold charge unless you put pressure on the lead.
Does the store have to give me a replacement charger?

You have no claim against the store.
The person who bought the thing should be talking to the retailer about a repair, refund or repacement.0 -
Right okay, would I not be able to go in the store with the recipet? Will not be a fat bride...

Of course you can.
But legally they have no relationship to you.
You did not make the purchase, did you?
So, no-one can possibly know whether they will help you or not.
They might... they might not.
Why not go to the store with the faulty charger and the receipt and ask?
Are you sure it's the charger at fault, and not the connector on the notebook?
Best to take the notebook to the store as well.0 -
The reason i asked if i could go in the store is because my uncle bought it whilst in Hull, he lives at the other side of the country lol.
Yeah it is definatly the charger, you have to squeeze the cable for it to charge.
Might just phone the store and see what they say, have a strong feeling they are going to want the laptop back to send away for repair, really hope they do not do that lolWill not be a fat bride...

Take it back with the receipt and don't mention that it was a present.
The charger probably has a broken wire near the computer end, they may well suggest that you pulled it too hard in use.0
