Primus or BT

Hi everyone,I am really worried at the moment because I am ecpecting to have my service moved from BT to Primus on the 3rd of April this year.
Having grown sick of paying BT around £75 a quater for the past few years and also hearing on the radio that they were putting up there prices again and also bearing in mind my landline gets used very little I decided after checking out martins blog on cheap home phones to go with Primus I have taken out there £7.99 a month deal and will pay via direct debit I have not chosen any of there add on services such as caller ident ect .
ON Friday this week I had a letter from BT informing me that they estimate that I will have to pay them a termination of contract fee of about £11.33.Today I rang customer services and spoke to a chap about this fee and told him that I did not consider this fee was due because BT have altered the terms of our contract by putting there prices up ,he agreed with me and said I would have to take it up with billing when my final bill was taken I ALSO MENTIONED THE FACT THAT MANY PEOPLE WOULD JUST PAY THIS termination fee due to the fact that they will be unaware of this clause in the conntract .He replied but this is not what this conversation is about or words to the effect and then hurried off .
I then began to read posts in this forum and am now worried about joining Primus .
what do you people think I should do should I stick with BT or go Primus

If your landline is used very little how comes your paying £75 a quarter ? ,given that the cheapest way to get line rental at the moment is about £13.60p a month if you dont want to pay in advance.

You presumably have a bill. How do they get to £75 a quarter.

As far as avoiding the cancellation fee have you see this recent post.:D

If you just want cheap, see the link below (but others have regretted such a move).

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
