Rules on rented caravans

My daughter and her young children just came back from a weekend at a Haven holiday park. Although there were a couple of heaters in the caravan, they were so cold that it was literally impossible to sleep. They were all dressed in coats and hats in bed. My daughter mentioned this problem and was told that she'd booked standard accommodation and that's what they get. They did give her six extra duvets. However, the children are very young (one is asthmatic) and I do not think this is right.

Are there are rules on minimum temperature at these places?

Any responses gratefully received.

Thank you.

I have no idea to be honest but we are just at the start of spring so i would imagine it would be cold at night - it is in my house i know that much.

What does the haven website say on the differences of standards between the accomodation?

Not rules as such. The caravan will have been built to the applicable British Standard which lays down minimum specifications for construction, heating, insulation, safety etc. Haven rent out caravans with full CH, but they're obviously more expensive.

Britain doesn't really get warm until May and by September, mornings and evenings can be chilly, so if the cold is a problem it's always better to pay the extra and get a van with proper heating.

Typical of caravans, they only have a fire in the living room, as mentioned unless you pay the extra

Take a small fan heater, Or hire one if they still have the hire shops on site??

Probably cheaper than upgrading to a newer & better spec caravan.
