Hi All!
Trying to be a proper Moneysaver, I've decided to try & make my own website, using 'free' Nvu as the system to create it with.
& am getting on pretty good, EXCEPT....
When I clik to view in browser, prior to uploading, everything looks fine.
THEN, displaying the site in Firefox is just as I want it...
On AOL, it's placing some text out of line...
In Internet Explorer, it's even worse!!
Now I know I'm a novice, so it MUST be something, I'm doing, as well as being an easy fix - here's hoping!!
Thanks in advance!!

Thing is, different browsers show things differently - as you have now discovered! Do you know how to code html without the use of an editor? You could go and see where things are out of place - I haven't heard of NVU before, and use Frontpage (as well as knowing how to code without an editor) so I'm able to go and see what I could change to make it render correctly.
I would say you can use CSS to make it render correctly in the different browsers - but none of them would look exactly perfect!
Sorry I can't be of more help by offering a solution!- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Try putting the page inside a table - 3 columns at 95% width of the page with the 2 outer columns at 100 pixel width. It should reduce a lot of appearance changes to text placement in various browsers and also won't overspill on a low res screen or leave big gaps at higher resolutions.0

Can you provide a link so we can have a quick look to see how it is putting it together?
As others have said, all the browsers out there use slightly different rendering methods. For pure HTML the variance is no way near as much as it used to be but CSS is vastly different with some browsers simply ignoring certain "rules" and others simply interpreting them in totally different ways. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
