i had an accident and the insurance company said it was my fault, what they did not tell was that i lose only two years no claims. i assumed that i had 0 years no claims so paid a hefty price increase when i search for insurance. this year i found out that it is standard across most insurance companies that you only lose two years no caims, i saved £50 straight away by confirming my old no claims was greater then i had thought!! what a con.

Why is it a con?
They will have told you in their policy booklet and T&C when you took out the policy.
You presumed incorrectly that you lost it all - perhaps you could have asked when you registered the claim?0 -
It isnt as straight forward as losing 2.... most will take you to 2 years below their "max" NCD allowance if you have more than the max... so if you have 5 years you go down to 3 years but if you have 50 years you still go down to 3 years (most insurers max out at 5 years)All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
