I had motor insurance with swinton from Jam 10 till Jan 11. However when it came to the renewal time i informed then that i didnt wish to renew. Got proof of NCD and went on my merry way
However i was paying by monthly DD and they took an extra month out as a pre renewal payment, which according to their T&Cs they would refund if i didnt renew. I am still trying to get this back from them with no luck, every time i speak to them n the phone they say they will send it and dont
Anyone got experience of this and ideas how i can get my money back

There are a number of options. One is to make a complaint to Swinton - which should produce the return of the premium eventually (ask for 8% per annum simple interest in your complaint).
The second is to tell your bank it was taken in error and you want a refund under the Direct Debit guarantee.
It is either or - you are not entitled to both!0 -
It's also worth reporting them to the FSA, as they are in breach of regulations.0

If they wont refund, you will need to complain to the Financial Ombudsman Service - not the FSA.
Personally, I would speak to a manager at Swintons and/or make an official complaint.
Sounds like big-company-sausage-machine syndrome to me.

I agree with the FOS complaint if they don't refund promptly.
But regardless of that, they should be reported to the FSA as they are in breach of regulations concerning the renewal, whether they refund or not.0
