just leave the legs off if your concerned, then the whole base of the wardrobe is in contact with the floor0 -
We've had an almost identical wardrobe at the top of the stairs for several years, and because of where it's placed there's no wall behind to fasten it to, and it's fine without.0

If it's an Argos bookcase then it will need fixing to the wall just to make sure that it does not collapse. At least, that is my experience of one that I assembled for my bowls club. Absolute rubbish compared with a similar one from Ikea that I assembled for myself.I can afford anything that I want.
