overseas and considering bruptcy

Hi again,
been some time since been on here-out of bankruptcy for a few years now-a struggle-but getting through.
Can anyone guide me on the following which i was asked.
A neighbour is considering bruptcy but now lives abroad.
Her debts are UK based.
has decent job,but up to neck in previous debts and outgoings more than incomings and its been like that for ages and getting worse and can't see a way through.
She is bankrupt in all but name-and wants to take the 'plunge'.
Does she declare herself brupt in UK as per the rest of us have and the normal procedure-or is it different if you live abroad ?
Any advice on the procedural aspect/differences that may apply would be appreciated.
many thanks

I'm sorry, I don't know the answer, but you might want to subscribe to this thread which appears to be a similar situation, i.e. going BR from abroad. There might be some answers on there later on or more questions from the poster which help.
Hopefully someone with knowledge will be along to answer your specific question shortly. When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN

How long as she lived abroad?:pB&SC No. 298

lived abroad-9 months i seem to think-not too sure.
Thinking this through-her problem may be that no longer has a UK address (rents overseas )
She could have a UK address-c/o somewhere-but would that associate the owner of thsat property with her and put thsat property 'under scrutiny' ?0 -
As long as she has not been abroad over 3 years, she can come back to the UK and petition her BR.:pB&SC No. 298
