New Build Home Problems with replacement flooring

Hi,

We have recently moved into a brand new house and we got the builder to supply us with the flooring. We have had problems with the wrong fitting of the kitchen and bathroom lino. They have offered to replace it as it is their fault and that I am happy with.

However the flooring that we picked for the kitchen has been discontinued and the replacement we are being offered is not a similar design (its awful and looks cheap). They have said that the only option we have is to pick a different colour from their range. Obviously we have a certian coulour scheme in the kitchen and none of the others would match.

Am I right in thinking that I should not have to accept a repacement that is different to my original? Where do I stand with consumer rights?

I have suggested that I could find the original design lino from a differnet company and they could purchase and lay that lino as the replacement.

Any help on what my rights are would be appreciated as im now stuck in a impossible situation
