Does anyone make good use of the small mesh washing tablet bags?

I've just found a stash of them from years ago and looked at them thinking they must have a use! So any ideas before they get binned?

Thank you.

Put them on your local freecycle someone will have them.

I used them when I was moving, great for keeping the nuts/bolts together when dismantling furniture.

Fill with pot pourri and use as drawer fresheners

Put a bar of soap inside and use as an exfoliator

Use to keep hair bobbles in

ermm cant think of any more at the moment

I wash bras in the WM like you're not supposed to and I put them in the bag to save them from snagging other things.

I've thought they'd be good for keeping pairs of socks together.

Also if you wash your tights in the machine or have any other long thin strips - like belts for example, you could put them in a bag to save the tights/belts winding round everything else.
  • Thanks. Hair bobble sorting is a good idea, I have that job to do and my long hair stuff & daughter's Christmas stuff that isn't currently being used can go away for now.

I'm not sure I wash much where they would be useful but good ideas thanks.

I have some travel stuff in one or two. Two packs of playing cards in another two, again for us to take on holiday.

Use them for your mobile phone adaptors, then you only have to pull out the plug bit and not have wires trailing everywhere.

You can store small bulbs from the garden in them as it keeps them together but lets the air circulate - a bit like an onion net.

  • I keep all the small padlocks and keys for the suitcases in one. They are also handy for keeping spare buttons together in your sewing box. I have used them to keep small change in the glove compartment to use for carparking fees, HTH

I put ends of soap in mine and hang it from the tap in the utility room, for handwashing when coming in from the garden. The rough surface helps get dirty hands cleaner.

I cut the family's hair and end up with lots of clippings...I put them in a mesh bag and hang it up by the bird feeders. It's quite funny to find a nest lined with hair when it's time to clear out the bird boxes in autumn. Or you can use scraps of wool (not synthetic fibres, just real wool) or dried grass.

Keeping the bits of a board game together, just pop the dice & counters in a net & into the box, means you don't lose the little pieces when the children grab at the boxes & pull them all onto their heads (or is that just my munchkins?)
