Pretty much as expected.
Land registry has a significant lag, so is only now reflecting the Nov/Dec sales.
The July release will tell us what is happening now.
North/South divide seems to be opening up. Brit1234's area of London is soaring though.

I would expect more of the same in July. Anywhere that is private sector based is doing well, with more public sector dependant areas and currently on the 'killer surf' from total wipeout.0 -
I feel dirty, I thanked Hamish. Lets hope he continues like this.0

i just checked the house prices for 'My Way' and they've dropped 40% as expected.

Hi Hamish
This is what I like about you Hamish, at least you put meat on the bones of your bull argument, at least we will be able to check arguments out later. I think you are way out here, I personally can see a momentum building here, and once rates go up along with unemployment and spending cuts kick in then there will be no stopping the collapse. And once sentiment has altered then the fat lady will be bellowing like a good un0 -
The significant bits I reckon:
The market is still failing to function properly in most parts of the country I guess:Sales volumes averaged 56,257 per month from September to December 2010. This is a fall from the 65,939 average for the same period 12 months before this.
Rich-poor divide possibly opening up? London +3.2% y-o-y, North-East -7.1% y-o-y.
Top and bottom London boroughs:
Top
1. Islington +9.4%
2. Hounslow +7.7% (bucks the trend)
3. Kensington & Chelsea + 7.2%
Bottom
1. Bexley +1.0%
2. Tower Hamlets +1.0%
3. Bromley +1.3%
Across the country, detached houses fell in price by -0.7% y-o-y, semis by -1.6% and terraces by -2.7%.0 -

I wouldn't call 0.3% rise soaring, I suggest most first time buyers don't get on the ladder in Chelsea unless they are called Tarqwin or Sebastian.
Where I am looking to buy fell 1.2% this month. :j
Signature updated below, looking very red Hamish.:exclamatiScams - Shared Equity, Shared Ownership, Newbuy, Firstbuy and Help to Buy.
