Should be an easy query :)

Put house up for sale, and have just seen my OH's ex mother in law walking past with a brochure for our house. :)

They were divorced 4-5 years before I met him, and the house is in our names- hers was removed after the divorce and she received cash from him buying her half of the house. I was added when we married last year. They have a ten year old daughter together, and regular payments for her are made.

Is the ex mother in law just being nosy, or is there anything that could be concern? Very much doubt it, but never hurts to ask!

I cannot see any right which might exist, based on what you've said.

When you say she recieved cash from him, was that the result of a court order? was it done through solicitors and agreed by her as some sort of 'clean break' settlement, or was it just done unofficially between the two of them?
If it is the last one, then she I think she may still be able to pursue a further claim from him (not saying she would be successful!)

I think you need to find out exactly what the agreement was when they split, and speak to the solicitor who was representing your husband (if he had one).

Of course it may just be that the ex MIL is interested in buying the house, or she may just be being nosey!

Assuming everyone was properly represented and advised at the time I think all will be well.

think you answered your own question then!

As this woman has ensured the brochure was on display for you to see I'd guess she wants you to know she is aware you are selling, which sounds to me like she must have the most boring life ever to be that worried what everyone is doing!
