How does Second Chance work?

on the Resolve Problem page, it says:
Come back and close this case on or after 04 Apr, 2011 or once you receive payment. You must close this case no later than 30 Apr, 2011 to receive a final value fee credit for the item.
So that means it is too late?!
How long ago did auction end and did you open a dispute at the time?
I'm a bit confused on the time frame, but if there is a claim still open and it can be closed then you need to do it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. No, it means you have opened the case.
You have four days now, exactly and to the second from when you opened it for the buyer to pay.
If he doesn't then on 4 April you can close the case and get your fees back, the buyer receives a strike.
You must close the case before the 30 April.
If in the meantime you receive payment, the case should close automatically. The only time it wouldn't and you would have to close it, is if the buyer paid by an offline means, ie cheque or PO.
Does that make more sense now?0 -
Yes, sorry. I saw 30th and thought it was 30th March, not 30th April.
All clear!
tnaks to everyone who answered.0 -
After a couple of weeks the "buyer" finally contacted me and asked me how to send money -- this was lomg after my unanswered mails to him asking him to pay, and long after I opened the case.
I just received an invoice fro ebay. I did not sell the item and did not bother with Second Chance. What do I do now?0 -
Now you go back into the case and update to say that he's not paid and that you want to report it as a non-paying bidder and get your money back.
You can do this now that it is between the 4th and 30th of April.
You MUST do it before the 30th of April or you won't get your fees refunded.
After that you can re-list the item and start again.0 -

So did you close the case and get your FVFs refunded as advised earlier in this thread?
If so just ignore the buyer, he has a strike and you have your fees back so leave it as it is.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I did not close the case; I thought I had till 30th April! I just went to the Resolution Centre and it says I have no open cases... so what do I do now?0

oops.my mistake. I did some more searching and the case has been closed:
eBay note: This unpaid item case closed without payment and you have received a final value fee credit.
I forgot that I sold another item recently.0
