Service light on Mira Advance elec shower

I`ve just bought a house with a Mira Advance shower fitted, and the red Service light keeps stopping the shower working when the low/med/high button is pressed. It will work eventually after cutting the power then powering up again about 6 times. The previous owners didn`t leave a user manual behind, so I can`t check what to do.

I think the vast majority of manuals say call a plumber when the service light goes on. I have a look and edit this post in a bit.
Instructions are on a .pdf from here:

I have writer's block - I can't begin to tell you about it.
You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you would make an exception.

Thanks BoB. Another perfect solution to an awkward question.

Don't think the water's hard in County Durham 24hs, so scaling up isn't that likely.A house isn't a home without a cat.
