Value of Jewellery

My Contents Insurance is up for renewal. I usually only carry out a quick assessment of the value of my contents but this year I thought I would do a more thorough check. One thing I am stuck on is the current value of various pieces of jewellery which I bought my wife around 1995. I have the receipts and in total it was just over £5000. I have checked jewellers websites but cannot find anything like it. An inflation calculator on the internet puts the value at £7300 but I wonder whether this is representative of increases in jewellery costs. Can anyone help as to what it is likely to be worth now.
Thanks
Harry

I would have them professionally valued if you've had them over fifteen years. Get large photographs taken and store them safely with the valuations.I am a mortgage broker. One thing to look our for with valuations is make sure you use somebody who charges a fixed fee rather than a percentage of the valuation.
