£land compost

seems a cheap enough deal to buy one and try one..........0

15l for £1.00 is equal to £5.00 for 75l. Unless you only need 15l or its a well known brand its not quite as good as at first sight.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Right looks can be deceptive, going after quality is always wiser.0

My Wife's just used a 75 ltr bag from B & Q which cost about a fiver I think. So 15 ltr for a pound isn't particularly cheap.
Small quantity can be useful though if you don't want much.0 -
I have been using Lidls 40l bags FOR £1.99.
I have sown chillis, toms, peppers & sunflowers in it & all have come up. I have also planted my pots, onions & Shallotts in it too.
Used it all last year & it worked for me great, just aswell as its the closest shop to me (don't drive) but I'm happy with it for the price.0 -

Our local Lidl never has any compost in, so I bought some from Asda - 3 70ltr bags for a tenner. I opened one yesterday and its extremely dry. Last year I got some from our local hardware shop which was really good, had some left this year and all my seeds have germinated in it.0 -

Your maths haven't gone to pot!
It was an indication that you don't need to stock up on £land compost because you think it is cheap.
But,
You might find the small size convenient if only small quantities are needed, or you haven't got a car to carry it.0 -
Regarding Lidl.
Oh you do have to be quick. On the morning it comes in (garden promotions & Mothersday promotions I get about 4.
Had a word with the manager about ordering more as it always seem to go quick & they could sell it about 5 times over, seemed to have listened because it has been in the last couple of weeks.;)0 -
Aldi also has 40l compost for £1.99 at the minute- seems to do the job well. HTH:)Nuts oh Hazelnuts:rotfl:0
