Dear all..
Just got a house back from tenants... various problems, one is scratches/cut-marks on worktop: Worktop is black/flecked.
Am I as I suspect stuffed and there's nowt I can do about it or is there some magic fix for this situation?? I'm loath to try a bit of abrasion then polish in case that makes the situation worse....
Regards & thanks in advance...

What about the coloured filler type stuff that is used on worktop joints? I have never tried it and no doubt it would not give a totally perfect finish but it may mask the problem enough to satisfy your next tenant.0

Didn't you have a damage deposit?Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

I had a black flecked work top in a new build flat some years ago. I found a scratch on the work surface a few months after moving in, don't know whether it was me or the builders.
When I mentioned it to the site foreman, he advised me to "fill it in" with a black eye brow pencil. I bought a cheap one from Wilko's and it did the job perfectly.0 -
I bought a tube of "colourfill" for worktops from b&q and it does quite a good job of hiding worktop scratches0

Claim for all damages and then see what the tenants are like before you replace it. If there tenants are long term and good tenants go for a stone based work top, that way you can polish out the scratches. They are a lot more expensive but well worth it for long life :-)0

Im all honesty if its a gloss worktop which it sounds it is it isnt really the right worktop for a rental property as they do scratch very easily and some wear and tear should be factored into your rental price.
You wont get a gloss finish back but if the scratches are not to big try a black marker pen. if not there are companies like this about
http://www.plastic-surgeon.co.uk .Never used them myself but looking at some of their repairs on their site they look good.theartfullodger wrote: »Dear all..
