Renault
Endorsed by Nissan.
Sounds like a vote of confidence to me
So either everyone who has been buying Nissan quality, has misunderstood what Nissan think is good quality, or Renault are actually good, or Nissan just don’t understand cars.0 -
Also Nissan thought european cars were so good they wanted to put their name on them at the time.
No, Nissan effectively went bust in 1999, and were bought by Renault. Carlos Ghosn then put in place a recovery plan in which the new generation of Nissan cars were mostly Renault designs. That is not the same as Nissan putting their "seal of approval" on Renault cars. All european cars are poor because a Clio had a sticking bonnet catch once?
Where did I say that? I was responding to your assertion that the Euros are whiter than white and sooo much more honest than those shady Oriental types with their dodgy fault-hiding tendencies.0 -

When you are effectively a subsidiary of another company you have to do as you are told. Unfortunate fact of life.0 -
Actually, I did have a 1976 Talbot Alpine that went rusty. My MIL had a Fiat in the 70's, she had that for 15 years or so, but again, needed some repairs. So not all european cars were good.0
