  • Hi everyone,

Thank you to whoever it was who suggested the baby sling for hovering. I’m sorry I can’t remember who it was. I tried the baby in her front carrier for hoovering thing and although she was grumpy I at least did manage to hoover the living room last week!

I’m in again this week but I’m going to be a bit easier on myself and put a little less pressure on. I’ve decided that for the next 5 weeks – I’m going to add a room in each week.

Week 1 – this week will be the living room. I’m going to aim to do the whole list + some decluttering
Week 2 – next week will be the living room (to stay on top of) and the kitchen
    Etc

So this week the plan is to try to tame the ROD that is my living room.

I’ve also tried to be a bit more helpful to myself with meal planning. I’ve planned more prepare first and then finish off in the oven dishes this week. Like today’s chicken pie – then I can make in the morning when baby is more settled and just pop in the oven before OH gets home. This is a lot easier than stressing myself out at 4.30 when I try to start dinner with a screaming baby whos just starting to get tired and grumpy. Chicken pie is already made for tonight.

    Today’s plan –
Tackle the cupboard under the TV – what could be stored there safely – craft/card making things??
Declutter the book shelf – short out books so they look neater.

I have another question for all you organised people – where do you store your library books? We visit the library regularly – normally once a week – but I’m not sure the bookshelf is the best place for the books as I sometimes end up with fines for books I’ve forgotten we’ve borrowed. We’re doing the book crawl for my daughter too. She gets a certificate for every four visits to the library – how sad am I – she’s 21 weeks old she doesn’t know what’s happening!

OK I’m off to tackle the cupboard.

Why not program a reminder into the Organiser in your mobile phone? If your books are due back at different times, you could even note the title of the one that's due back, and have the phone squeak at you a few days before the "due back" date. (Hope I've worded that in a way that makes sense - not so hot on the putting-the-words-together-coherently thing these days):D

I'm so sad, I even have a PDA to hold all my reminders, right down to "change bed" which comes up every Saturday! It's the only way I stay remotely organised.:rotfl:

I finished my second HHC with sammiel - how did you do?

I hoovered all the way up the stairs with halls and tidied littlies rooms which, surprisingly, took less time than I thought! I think a combo of me nagging them to do it themselves then helping them with a little top up tidy from me ;)

Am off for a power nap now as the clocks going back has really thrown me...I didn't get to sleep until past 01:30 last night

ETA - clocks went forward, not back. I know. I did say I needed sleep ;)

helen jelly glad to hear your car passed. Mine failed 2 weeks ago and they still haven't worked out how to unlock rear passenger door. Wondering whether it would be cheaper to buy a new car. Unfortunately living where we do and with work we need 2 cars.

Little Miss Happy where are you that the clocks went back? Mine went forward ;-)

ScarlettsMum I have a small magazine rack/wicker basket that I try and keep mine in. (Try being the optimum word)
