Talk talk use them and be prepared to get marketing calls

Talk talk use them and be prepared to get marketing calls. This time last year I left the company talk talk I didnt sign up with them but a company called Ontel who they bought. Despite 2 years ago telling Onetel to leave me alone from previous harassment I call it that because they constantly hound you for several weeks, I get more marketing calls from Talk talk who got my details from Onetel. Now at the time for 2 weeks in Feb 2010 I tell them several times to leave me alone, this is completely ignored. So I threaten to leave again I get calls. I leave in March and immediately buy Truecall device to filter calls. I get told by manager (Matthew Hutson) they will remove me from future calls. Well having left them in March to Primus and despite the occasionally cold calling surprise surprise Talk talk continue to call my according to the truecall logs.
I have previous complained to Onetel in the past about marketing calls to to be fair they did respect my wishes for a while in 2009, unfortunately the calls continue yes they is a large gap in time when they dont but then they continue to pester you for a while
Now fortunately truecall blocks them out but I just want to warn others about this disgraceful company who dont respect your wishes
Before anyone says so my point in posting is to warn others and to also get companies to respect customers wishes to privacy

To be honest the broadband service was pretty faultless with both. I was syncing at near 15k and getting 12-13k with Talk Talk, around half mile from exchange.
My best guess is that most of their 4 million customers get a reasonable service, however that still leaves loads with serious problems.
Once your 12 month contract is up they will ring with an offer of 3 months half price and not make it clear you are signing up for another 12 months, so beware you don't get caught out.
I selected no sales calls from TT and third parties on my account and this kept them at bay but I still got one call, just after I had left.
My elderly parents got caught out with this and were threatend with a big bill when they had problems and tried to leave.
I am just hoping I get correct final billing and termination now, fingers crossed.
You could get years of trouble free service and save some money, or if unlucky get loads of mider. There is no way of telling unfortunately.
At least you only get tied in for 12 months now. Here's your exit tariff if it goes bad, they cannot get any more than this off you:-

I expect you have already checked, but if you can get Sky LLU Unlimited broadband and Talk (phoneline) at your exchage it is a better bet at a similar price, £21.25 I think, with 3 free months at the moment.
http://www.ispreview.co.uk/articles/11_Best_UK_Broadband_ISPs/Sky lacks the same quality as its more established counterpart(s) above, but it does have strong financial backing and reasonable (definitely not perfect) customer support. It offers a neat range of broadband and phone packages, not to mention satellite TV services, and recently began allowing new customers to take its broadband and phone calls separately from the TV system (use to be mandatory). Prices start at just £10 (£7.50 with Sky TV) for the truly unrestricted 'Sky Broadband Unlimited' package with 20Mbps download speeds and a free router, although it does require your phone calls (but not line rental) to be made through its Sky Talk Freetime service (Free evening & weekend UK landline calls). Luckily 'Freetime' doesn't cost anything extra per month. Sky also offers line rental too from £11.25, if required.
Existing Sky TV users pay a bit less for their broadband (as above) and can even get FREE 20Mbps broadband at no extra cost, although this is restricted to a 2GB usage allowance. Sadly those outside of Sky's unbundled (LLU) network coverage will only be able to choose their inferior ‘Sky Broadband Connect’ package, which costs a hefty £17 per month and offers slower 8Mbps speeds and a 40GB usage allowance. Most of the gripes against Sky relate to the performance of their 'Connect' package.
Pro's:- Price
- Reasonable to Good Performance
- Reasonable Support
- Don't need Sky TV to get broadband anymore!
- The 'Connect' package is costly and doesn't perform well
- Email support can be slow

To be honest I haven't any fault with telephone service though I was being billed by Onetel who Talk Talk own. No my main issue is there aggressive sales/marketing. They are the only company who knocks at my door every other month trying to sell telecoms/broadband etc. If that aint bad enough I have repeatable told them to stop calling me I even went to email the boss for CPW in which I got a reply from Matt Hudson, as you can see he said he would take me off calling list, that simple has not happened, as you can see with call logs. I dont give my tel number willy nilly either as I respect my privacy hence why I got truecall to reject cold calling.
I feel companies like talk talk should respect customers privacy
I will never use talk talk again I left them because they do not respect your right to privacy
I got truecall to stop them in first place fair enough it works wish it works for house calls too0 -
Despite my recent negative posts regarding talktalk I do agree with i8change. I had indeed had a number of years of decent service (mainly under tiscali). The service did appear to go downhill once talktalk took over.
Recently Ihave had a numebr of disconnects, but mainly I wanted to leave to get a better deal and I have never been happy being 'forced' to move to talktalk.
Since signing up to leave I have had quite rude talktalk staff on the phone, being pushy etc. I do not think this is the way to try and maintain customers. But I guess some people will be intimidated to stay.

you can opt for no "marketing calls" from TT , i did this a year ago , and have never had any since !!!
As mentioned on your other thread deano,
I have been a TT customer for 3 years + , no problems for me , !!!0 -
