I can only assume you must be "dooper" on HUKD or you are just copying and pasting from there, as your posts are identical to someone on there who has been recomending the Samsung TV on every tv thread0 -

Not true. I contribute to posts about 37" to 42" TVs, usually in the £400(ish) price bracket. I suggest genuine alternatives to the TVs being promoted, & provide links to reviews to enable readers to consider the facts.
My top 3 TVs in this category are:
1. Samsung LE40C580. Review http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/samsung-le40c580-le32c580-20100728791.htm 'Highly Recommended'. Amazon £400 delivered
2. Toshiba 40RV753. Review http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/toshiba-40rv753-40rv753b-20110118924.htm 'Highly Recommended'. Amazon £408 delivered
3. Samsung LE40C530. Review http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/samsung-le32c530-le40c530-20100813815.htm 'Highly Recommended'. Amazon £350 delivered
If anyone finds the information useful, then it helps me give back a little in return for all the great bargains I've found at HUKD & MSE. Others should simply ignore it.0 -
I got the LG 42LD450 for £328 and preferred the picture over the LED version, although the LED's slimmer case was nice.
Just a word of caution on Best Buy and Quidco, it seems very unreliable and non existant cashback in most cases.0 -

Excellent price... Richer Sounds deal?
Agreed re Best Buy and Quidco... a friend is still waiting for cashback 10 weeks after his credit card was debited.0 -
LED TVs are LCD TVs with LED backlighting. For nearly every LED Edge-Lit LCD TV, there is an equivalent normal LCD TV, with the same panel, processor & software, hence similar picture quality.
The only obvious difference between LED Edge-Lit LCD & normal LCD is that the case is 2cm - 4cm slimmer. For this cosmetic effect, you pay £££ more than the equivalent normal LCD TV.
An example is the Samsung UE40C5800. £515 from Amazon. It's normal LCD equivalent is the Samsung LE40C580. £400 from Amazon. Same picture quality. For the extra £115 you get a case that's 3cm slimmer.
LED Edge-Lit LCD TVs are essentially for 'Fashionistas' ... they who prioritise style over picture quality. Energy savings are overstated ... you won't notice much difference in annual electricity bill by choosing LED Edge-Lit LCD.
For best picture quality within a budget, choose normal LCD or Plasma. Choose LED Edge-Lit LCD only if the slim form-factor is a 'must-have'.
The LED I bought is a different TV - did you not read all of the many differences? - much higher contrast, 4 HDMI in addition to its slimness. It has a 3ms response time as opposed to 4 for the LCD, it looks different and has a different stand.
I am reallly not sure why you think it can be the same processor.
LG stste the power consumption of the LCD to be 134W instead of the 88.4W of the LED
A saving of 34% power is pretty worthwhile IMO and add that to the fact that LCD tend to last only 60,000 hours compared with 100,000 for LED then that certainly adds up to very worthwhile reasons why the LED TV is worth paying the extra £15 quid that this costs rather than going for the LCD via Dixons/Quidco
http://hubpages.com/hub/LCD-vs-LED gives some supporting info
P.S viewing angles are much better on LED too apparently. To infinity and beyond!0 -

I cannot find any reviews for this TV on http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk or http://www.avforums.com or http://www.which.co.uk or anywhere else.
Picture quality depends on panel, processor & software. I believe the 4500 shares the same panel, processor & software with the LG 42LD450... review here http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/lg-32ld450-42ld450-20101120901.htm . 'Qualified Recommendation'.
Don't believe marketing hype. LED Edge Lit LCD TVs offer no practical benefits over standard LCD sets. Not one of them, at this budget end of the market, has achieved the minimum 65% score necessary to achieve a Which? 'Best Buy' award.
Most modern TVs have sensors that automatically adjust the set to match the ambient lighting in the room, so electricity consumption will vary accordingly. If you actually do save 46W, by how many £££s will your annual electricity bill reduce?
You would think that an eco-aware organisation like Which? would champion LED Edge Lit LCD TVs, however, power use is only 10% of their scoring criteria, & almost all the 'Best Buy' TVs are normal LCDs & Plasmas.
'LCD tend to last only 60,000 hours' Not proven, but say 5 hours use per day = 33 year lifespan. That will do nicely.
'viewing angles are much better on LED too apparently'. Viewing angle depends on the particular panel supplied, i.e. same as the normal LCD 42LD450.
I hope your set does not suffer from the poor audio quality, strange bluish tingeing of the image, or white light bleeding from the panel edges, which is so common with LED Edge Lit LCD TVs.
Best of luck getting the cashback... Quidco are having problems with Best Buy.0 -

You seem to be in a very nagitive and closed space so I hope that you are able to lift yourself out sometime soon.
You seem to disregard or poo poo most of what I said.
Which would you really go for,
BTW my quidco Bestbuyt purchase tracked almmost immediately as did my previous purchases with them at Christmas so not sure why you are using that as evidence to why you are right and I am wrong.
All things being well your hangover will be gone soon ....To infinity and beyond!0
