Hi
I recently got a new Capital One card (the 1% cashback card). Anyway I have been away from home since applying and returned yesterday to find my new card etc and this months statement which was for a balance of £18 (the annual fee).
Anyway this has a payment date of 29 Mar. Obviously I haven't set up any direct debits prior to this. I have paid £18 online using my current account on Saturday afternoon. Capital One say on the statement to allow 2 working days for this. Will my payment arrive on time?
Thanks

It may be touch and go depending on which bank you use. I would call their customer services to explain the circumstances.0

Capital One FAQs include the following quote:
"Capital One also accepts payments via 'Faster Payments'. This type of payment is available from some banks and means we will credit your account by the end of the next working day. You should check with your bank to see if they can offer you this payment method."
As long as your Bank offers the Faster Payment service you should be fine.0 -
Thanks, just gave them a ring and they said it will reach the account in time. Phew!0

Who do you bank with? Just asking as I bank with Santander and the first online payment I make goes through as a "slower" payment and takes 3 or so days. Subsequent payments then go via FP and normally get there the same day (when under the Santander FP limit)My posts are my own opinions based on my experiences and info gathered from sites such as this.
They are not a substitute for professional financial advice - but you knew that already didn't you?

I bank with Halifax and I used my Visa debit card to pay so I'm not sure that FP applies in my case.0
