in Credit cards
I have had a capital one credit card (30+%) and have a limit of £200 which I have had for about 1 year. I always pay this in full every month and the card has an expiry date of May 2011. Can I expect an increase anytime soon?

It also depends on how well you manage your finances elsewhere because they base increases on your credit rating as well as how well you have kept the account with them.
I'm guessing you have the Classic card? I have one which started on £200, but it was increased to £500 after 4 months.0 -
dont think anyone can work them out these days, capital one you either do or dont. But never bother asking as they always say the same0

You can apply for an increase, instead of passively waiting for it to happen.
Some people opt for a limit, to prevent them overspending.0 -
capital one never give on request, always say you will get if they decide on a review0

And they are also very stingy with increases, dont expect it to go up by a huge amount, if it goes up at allDebt free and staying that way! :beer:0

Well of course Cap1 classic are going to be stingy with their credit limit increases, for starters the majority of their customers have a proven track record of not paying their money back they owed in the first place hence the reason they have this card in the first place.0

Did you have a hard life in your childhood? I have noticed on MSE your quiet hostile towards some people is there a reason for this just out of interest.0 -

Really? You know this for a fact do you? How about people who have never had any credit before, and use the card to build a credit history? Or how about people who have worked hard to pay off what they've owed in the past, and use the card to get used to handling credit responsibly?
I agree, there are perhaps people who should never have credit, but to overgeneralise, and tar everyone with the same brush is unfairDebt free and staying that way! :beer:0 -

I had a lovely childhood thanks jackjones, but there was nothing harsh about my post whatsoever, I was just stating that Cap1 classic card is a credit card aimed at the majority of people who have not managed money very well in the past hence the reason Cap1 classic brought this card out at a high interest rate.
Now to me jackjones if you think this statement is wrong its up to you..0
