DSLITE and PSP?

Options
Can someone explain the me the 'advantages' & 'disadvantages' of both the PSP and the DSLITE...? Can you compare the two? or do they do completely different things.... Are the games better on one versus the other ? Or is it just personal preference... We do have a PS2 which we both use now and then to play games............ and of course all the grandkids use it if staying overnight..... :T

OH wants to buy me one or the other for christmas and I have had a look at both of them but being not at all clever with gamey things I have no idea which would be best...... I am swaying towards the DS as I rather think that Mind Training game would be useful:rotfl:

With the ds you get many features,
the new lite offers internet browsing i believe,
the games are more "fun" and focused towards younger players eg mario,
the touch screen element is fun

    With the psp you get,
Internet Access(providing you have wireless internet at home)
Ability to play video files either from memory stick or UMD,
Ability to play music files from memory stick or in newer version from internet streaming,
Depending on what version firmware your psp is you can get nintendo ds roms from the internet (not completely legal) but this doesnt work vice-versa with the ds playing psp roms,
psp has a greater battery life (hrs),
You can get the same brain training game on psp :D

I own both the ds and the psp and would pick the psp every time,
    HTH

the psp is more of a multimedia console (by that i mean you can play mp3's, mp4 videos, browse the internet and play games). also with the psp you can link the psp up to a ps2, via usb to unlock bonus content and swap your game saves to the psp from the ps2 and vice versa on some games.

also when the ps3 comes out, you will be able to use the psp as a rear view mirror in a driving game for example

the ds is mainly aimed at games and should have a feature like the psp and ps3 has so you can link it up to the wii
