i brought a asos voucher (£9 for £20 spend)i used it to buy some ghd's for a birthday present but found out she already had some so sent them back
and emailed asos for advice on how to use my code b4 it run out(10th april)just got this email:mad:

Hello,
Many thanks for getting in touch about your return.

We’re thrilled to see that the Groupon offer has generated so much interest. Just to clarify, please find below some information about returning any items to us which you’ve purchased using the Groupon offer:

· If you require a refund for any of your returned items, you would lose the Groupon code and you won’t be able to re-use it. (The T&C’s from Groupon stated that you would only be able to get a refund on the amount paid to ASOS; not the Groupon voucher value).
· You will only be able to make returns for a replacement item. If the item is no longer in stock, you’ll be issued a refund for the item for the amount which you paid to ASOS.

I hope this information is helpful, but please get back in touch if you have any further questions.
All the best,
Lauren M

That was in the t&cs, if you choose something else you won't lose the voucher though.

They only allow a swap for the same item in different colour or size as per t&cs. Also they don't have a phone number (which is absolutely ridiculous!!). The item I got was faulty and the wrong colour, trying to get them to understand that it was their fault and I should therefore get a replacement code took ALOT of effort (again, completely ridiculous).

So I'm really sorry but it's unlikely they will help you if they think you just 'changed your mind'! (This is not a go at you, it's at their rubbish service)
  • I would give them a call and see what can be done. It did say in the T&Cs about only exchanges for same item in different colour or size though so I wouldn't hold out much hope but if you explain it they may take pity?
  • it will teach me to read the t&c's in furture :( but thanks to u all x

I have found asos helpful in the past. I would email them saying you would really like to swap the item you purchased for xxxx item due to doubling up on a birthday present.
It would be rubbish customer service if they didn't let you swap it.

asos dont have a phone number, but you will get a very fast response if you write on their wall on facebook.
people have complained about poor response from emails,
but all the time i have written on the wall, it was sorted out quickly.
i just noticed facebook layout has changed again.
so you need to start a new topic to communicate with them

  • write on asos forums, i sent about 20 e mails when i was unhappy with something i received and every time i got some stupid e mail which completely missed my point. just register on the ASOS forum and post on there, since its public they usually give you some sort of compensation or give you what you want. i had a £20 off code when you spend £1 for complaining on there! well worth it if youre unhappy x
Who would say I couldn't make you mine? You were mine since th' beginning of time. Who would say we were far apart? You ever reside in the core of my heart?

I have a simiilar problem I bought two items one for £18 and another for £22, using a Groupon voucher value £20 (bought for £9) and £20 via credit card.

I returned the item that was £22 as it was to small, reading ASOS's T & C's it states that they will refund any money paid first before the value of a voucher.

Not the case, they do not honour any voucher through Groupon so Iam £9 OUT OF POCKET. Paid £27 in all for an item that was £18. :(

Have sent several emails to ASOS but they do not seem to understand anything, RUBBISH CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Iam taking this issue up with Groupon no response as yet.

They do the same thing with all voucher codes. The Coke ones for £5 get deducted from your refund too. I agree to use Facebook - everyone seems to respond faster to complaints if loads of customers see it.
