Does anyone get eyelash extensions on a very regular basis?
I am seriously considering having this done & keeping up with it.
How do people find them & how long do they usually last?

A couple of my friends at work have this - they go every 6-8 weeks I believe. They are very careful not to touch the eyelashes too much or they fall out; and i think they have little brushes (like mascara brushes) to use every morning to make sure they are straight.
I think they look really good - I wouldn't do it myself but apparently it is very addictive!!
hope that helps0 -

I think there are several different types. My friend gets a pair that go in one night and alst possibly for the next day but tend to need to come off after that.
My mum has had a pair which were supposed to have lasted a few weeks but she took them off as they looked daft (I think someone told her in the end, sad to say I bottled it and let her walk around looking....odd!)
My sister had a pair that were supposed to last 6-8 weeks but didn't like them, they felt too heavy and unflexible for her so she took them out.
I think it must depend on the brand, the types of lashes you go for (my mum was happy to keep hers on, my sister wasn't) even which type you go for as to if they work for you or not.
I'd see if you can get a bit more info on what options you have: which brands are available to you and then maybe do a little research to see how they work out for different people. Places like makeupalley, dooyoo, even google may have people on blogs putting in reviews. I think its important to find out as much as possible as the worst thing I think would be something like a reaction to the chemicals or lash loss.0 -
I've had these done, they look lovely but dont last long at all and I found them expensive, now I do my own and wouldnt be without them but the main thing to remember keep them away from water (in the shower for instance) and away from heat (hairdryer?) as this wrecks them straight away:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

Ok so I've decided & had lash extensions. I went to a local salon that I trust as I've had treatments there before.
The overall cost was £30 & apparently should last 4 -6 weeks before needing infills.
My own eyelashes are very sparse & quite short. They also don't lay properly, however, she still managed to do a good job with what I had. They ain't quite as I'd expected, but that's down to my own stumpy lashes. I always have the same trouble when getting anything done at the hairdresser, my hair is so childlike that it dosen't take well to anything other than a cut.
I'm now trying to find out what eyelash comb is best for lash extensions. If anyone knows, please tell me0 -
I take it all back.
Woke up this morning to stuck together lashes
Seems she has used far too much glue & to be honest I thought this after I had them done, but just thought it was me being fussy.
Don't know what to do about it. I have used a lash comb, but it's proving pretty fruitless.
Wondering whether to contact the salon to either have them removed or re-done (free of charge).0 -
I had loads of trouble with mine from the salon too, its really easy to do your own and much more cost effective and customised, the video on You Tube that you recommended for me on the hooded eyes thread actually shows you how to do them, a bit of practice and your away:) and yes I would go back and get them re-done for free or get your money back - let us know how you get on:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

My sister does them professionally and they cost a lot more than you've paid but it takes her 2 hours to do them and they last a long time. Go back and let them know what's happened.0 -
how long they last will depend on how often you loose eyelashes normally - for most people they loose them at a similar rate to eyebrow hairs, so if you need yours tweezing every 4wks, then expect to have to renew your extensions at similar intervals
the lash extensions are stuck to your own lashes. if you have sparse lashes naturally, then the results wont be any more dramatic than you get from using mascara
there is no way your lashes should be stuck together the next morning due to the glue. if your eyes arent stuck together when you leave the salon, then the glue has set, and it cant then melt and restick overnight. what has most likely happened is the lashes have irritated your eyes and increased the amount of teardrops you produce, or you could even have an eye infection, due to the irritation
it is not possible to remove the lashes without the special remover, that dissolves the glue (unless you want to pluck out your own lashes too)
a full set of lashes will take a minimum of 2hrs to do, and costs in the region of £50

I went back to the salon this morning & they removed a couple from each eye & replaced them. I said I would telephone them if I had any further problems.
There is nowhere in my town that offers any better than what I've had done unfortunatly & to be honest, I can't really afford much more. To get more expensive ones, I would have to travel quite far out of town & it would become unaffordable to keep getting infills when needed.
To be honest, I don't think it helps that my own eyelashes are nearly non-existant either. Also, everytime I visit a beauty salon or hairdresssers, I never really properly explain what I want & generally walk away disappointed with the results. I need to be alot more confident in my approach.0 -
Really miffed. Had to go back to the salon yet again yesterday. Had them all removed & the cheaper £10 lashes applied.
Took ages to removed them & it was quite an uncomfortable experience. The beautician then "quickly" applied the cheaper lashes & didn't even offer me a partial refund.
I'm not pleased with the application of the new lashes. Some are actually stuck onto my eye lid & to be honest look a mess.
What would you do if this was you?0
